How to contact a tattoo artist.

So you found an artist you want a tattoo from! Nice!
Nowadays a lot of artists have a form to fill out. This form will generally ask you about your idea, placement, size, etc. But where is this form?

If you’ve found the artist on Instagram there is a big chance they will have information on how to book an appointment with them in their bio, highlights or a pinned post. For The Ink Society you can see that we say it’s linked in our bio, so on our website!

Most artists prefer contact via email. Instagram DMs can be quite finicky. This doesn’t mean that you can’t send a DM, there is just a chance that if it is your tattoo request it may get lost. If you want to be safe, just check or ask for their preferred method of booking.

We know it can be super confusing navigating the tattooworld. Tattoo artists try to all communicate as clearly as possible but since there are so many of us, there are different working methods.
Best thing to do is ask! We are not that scary, we promise :)

An important note is that you should also feel comfortable with how a tattoo artist communicates, this already starts with your request and how they reply to it! If your not sure about forms or don't know what to fill in, just be honest. A good tattoo artists will try to help you and get information from you to see what it is you really want.

Just take your time to see how an artist works and see if it fits, it will make the experience best for both of us :)
