Remember the ink ban?

A couple of years ago there was a lot of talk about all colour inks being banned from tattooing, so what’s up with that? The ink ban is not an actual ban. It is an EU regulation called REACH. It is created to ensure that, amongst other materials, the inks tattoo artists use are safe for you.

This does mean that a lot of older tattoo inks are no longer in production. Nowadays most tattoo ink brands have a REACH approved line, so guess what? There is no specific colour that is banned.

Some colours are however harder to get, this is why you might see your artist mixing the inks a bit more than they used to. If you are worried about older tattoos that need a touch up, don’t. We know how to colour match!
